Hunter Lane is a premier boarding and training facility located at the base of Taylor Mountain in the heart of beautiful Sonoma County, California. Now owned by Margaret Winterkorn, Hunter Lane was originally established as Double Bar M in 1974 by Peter and Benita Mattioli as a breeding farm for champion cutting horses. Over nearly forty-five years, Double Bar M evolved into Hunter Lane, one of Sonoma County's premier full service boarding and training facilities.
Hunter Lane is conveniently located 5 minutes from Sonoma State University and 8 minutes from Santa Rosa Junior College. We offer several pasture and paddock options from small to large. All of our stalls are matted and include ample pelleted bedding. Stalls and paddocks are cleaned daily. Horses are fed three times per day with your choice of alfalfa, grass or oat hay. We're owner operated with 24-hour security.
Our experienced trainers offer a wide range of services and riding styles, including Western and English riding instruction. We have several turnout options, blanketing, supplemental feeding and access to bi-annual vaccination clinics.
Hunter Lane offers two indoor and three outdoor lighted arenas, a lunging pen and a mechanical hot-walker as well as direct access to Hunter Creek Trail. We have three warm water wash rack areas, nine separate tack rooms. We offer trailer parking on premises, and are within minutes of Taylor Mountain and Annadel state park.

From the South: Take Highway 101 north to the Rohnert Park Expressway exit.Turn right and continue on the Rohnert Park Expressway until it ends. Turn Left on Petaluma Hill Road. Continue through the Snyder Lane intersection. After one block turn Left on Hunter Lane. The ranch is located immediately on your right hand side.
From the North: Take Highway 101 south to the Hearn exit. Circle over the freeway. Turn Right on Santa Rosa Avenue. Turn Left on Yolanda and continue on until Yolanda ends. Turn Right on Petaluma Hill Road. Drive 3 miles. Just before the Snyder Lane intersection, turn Right on Hunter Lane. The ranch is located immediately on your right hand side.
